titleOfInvention | food to improve clinical conditions capable of lowering the concentration of low molecular weight nitrogen containing compounds in the blood |
abstract | "FOOD TO IMPROVE CLINICAL CONDITIONS ABLE TO DECREASE CONCENTRATION OF COMPOUNDS CONTAINING LOW BLOOD MOLECULAR WEIGHT NITROGEN". It is intended to provide a novel food to improve the clinical conditions by which the switch to hemodialysis in the treatment of renal failure may be prevented or delayed, the frequency of hemodialysis may be decreased or the onset of hyperammonemia in liver failure may be prevented or alleviated. That is, a food to improve clinical conditions, which aims to achieve the previous objective, characterized by containing hardly digestible polysaccharides as the main components together with a restricted amount of protein components. Consuming this food to improve clinical conditions, microbial proteins are synthesized by employing the energy generated by metabolism of the poorly digestible polysaccharides and secreted urea and ammonia in the intestines as a source of N and thus proliferated microbial cells are discharged into the faeces. According to this mechanism, compounds containing low molecular weight nitrogen in the blood may be reduced and, as a result, renal failure and liver failure may be improved. |
