titleOfInvention Phase and process change inks for your preparation
abstract "PAINTS WITH CHANGE OF PHASE AND PROCESS FOR YOUR PREPARATION". The present invention relates to phase change ink compositions comprising (a) an ink carrier comprising a monoamide and a tetraamide and (b) pigment particles having oxygen-containing functional groups on their surfaces. Also, processes for preparing a phase change ink comprising (a) melting a tetraamide that is solid at about 25Â ° C; (b) mixing with the fused tetraamide pigment particles having oxygen-containing functional groups on their surfaces; (c) maintaining the pigment and tetraamide mixture at a temperature of at least about 100 ° C and at a temperature of not more than about 200 ° C for a period sufficient to allow the molten tetraamide to moisten. the surfaces of the pigment particle; (d) subsequent to wetting the pigment particle surfaces with the molten tetraamide, adding to the mixture a monoamide; (e) following the addition of monoamide, subjecting the resulting mixture to the high shear mixture; and (f) subsequent to subjecting the mixture to the high shear mixture, optionally adding to the mixture more ink ingredients.
