abstract "method and compositions for producing transgenic plants". The present invention relates generally to a process for the production of transgenic plants and more particularly transgenic oil palm plants which contain the exogenous genetic material that confers said plants or cells of said particular phenotypic traces. The present invention also features transgenic plant parts, reproductive material and plant products. The present invention features in particular transgenic plants and even more particularly transgenic oilseed plants which have beneficial and useful phenotypic characteristics not present to at least the same extent in non-transgenic plants of the same species. The present invention also relates to oil, and in particular palm oil, which has beneficial and desirable characteristics produced by the transgenic plants obtained in accordance with the present invention.
