titleOfInvention | conjugate, composition comprising conjugates, pharmaceutical composition, use of a conjugate or a composition and process for the preparation of a conjugate or a composition |
abstract | "<a>conjugate, composition comprising conjugates, pharmaceutical composition, use of a conjugate or a composition, process for the prophylactic and/or therapeutic treatment of disorders, and process for the preparation of a conjugate or composition<mv>". erythropoietin glycoprotein conjugates are disclosed, said conjugates comprising an erythropoietin glycoprotein that is endowed with at least one free amino group and having the in vivo biological activity of causing bone marrow cells to increase the production of reticulocytes and red blood cells and selected from the group consisting of human erythropoietin and its analogues which have the human erythropoietin backbone modified by the addition of 1 to 6 glycosylation sites or by reordering at least one glycosylation site; said glycoprotein being covalently linked to form one to three poly(ethylene glycol) lower alkoxy groups, each of the poly(ethylene glycol) groups being covalently linked to the glycoprotein via a linker of the formula -c(o)-xsy - with the c(o) of the binder forming an amide bond with one of said amino groups, where x and y are as defined in the description and claims, the average molecular weight of each poly(ethylene glycol) moiety varies between about 20 kilodaltons to about 40 kilodaltons, and the molecular weight of the conjugate ranges from about 51 kilodaltons to about 175 kilodaltons. |
