"AMINO POLYNUCLEOTYDES POLYOL AMINE OXIDASE AND RELATED POLYPEPTIDES AND METHODS OF USE". The present invention provides polynucleotides and related polypeptides of the APAO enzyme from Exophilia spinifera and Rhinocladiella atrovirens. In addition, polynucleotides encoded by the APAO enzyme can be used to transform plant cells normally susceptible to Fusarium or other toxins - producing fungal infection. Plants can be regenerated from the transformed plant cells. In addition, the present invention provides a means to express both APAO and fumonisin esterase in a transgenic plant. In this way, a transgenic plant can be produced with the degradation capacity of fumonisin, as well as, with the ability to produce degradation of enzymes. In addition, the present invention provides methods for producing the APAO enzyme in non-plant prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems. Methods for detoxifying grains, processed grains, silage, harvested food, and animal feed and rumen microbes are also shown. |
