abstract "USE OF MIXTURES". The invention relates to the use of mixtures of (A) polymers and amino-isothiazoles (B) in addition to the metal complexes and acid additive salts thereof, as biocides. Said polymers (A) contain the following constituents integrated by means of polymerization: (a) 0.1-100 mol% of vinyl-amine units or ethylene-imine units, (b) 0- 99.9 mol% of units of at least one monomer of the group consisting of N-vinyl amides of the carboxylic acid of formula (I) where R¹, R² = H or C¹ -C ^ 6 ^ alkyl, vinyl formate, vinyl acetate, vinyl propionate, alcohol vinyl, C¹ -C ^ 6 ^ alkyl vinyl ether, C³-C ^ 8 ^ monoethylene unsaturated carboxylic acids, their esters, nitriles, amides and anhydrides, N-vinyl-urea, N-vinyl-imidazoles and N-vinyl- imidazolines and (c) 0 to 5 mol% of monomer units with at least 2 ethylenically unsaturated double bonds, where the sum of (a) and (b) and (c) makes up 100 mol%, and (B) amino -iso-thiazoles of formula (V) where R represents hydrogen or C ~ 1 ~ -C ~ 4 ~ alkyl and X represents halogen, NO2, CN and SCN.
