titleOfInvention Expansion of bone marrow stromal cells.
abstract <B> BONE MARROW STROMAL CELL EXPANSION <D>. The invention presents a process for the selection and expansion of bone marrow stromal cells. The process includes the steps of obtaining bone marrow stromal cells, introducing the stromal cells into a pre-coated vessel on an inner surface with a gelatin, and containing a culture medium including an acidic fibroblast growth factor polypeptide ("aFGF "), and expand stromal cells in the culture medium under conditions and long enough to obtain an increased number of bone marrow stromal cells. The culture medium can additionally include heparin, and the vessel can be additionally pre-coated with fetal bovine serum.
