PROCESS FOR SYNTHESIZING SULPHONATED TRIARYL METHANE COMPOUNDS. A process for synthesizing a compound corresponding to the formula [Chem I] is described, this process comprising at least the following steps: a) condensing the benzaldehyde compound of the formula [Chem II] with the dialkylaniline of the formula [Chem III] to give the triphenylmethane of the formula [Chem IV], b) treating the triphenylmethane of formula [Chem IV] with sulfuric acid to form the sulfonated triphenylmethane of formula [Chem V], c) oxidizing the sulfonated triphenylmethane of formula [Chem V] with a quinone. Also described is the use of this process for the preparation of patent blue. |
