| abstract | PUNICA GRANATUM EXTRACT, PREPARATION, COMPOSITION, COSMETIC USES OF THE EXTRACT, PROCESS FOR THE COSMETIC TREATMENT OF KERATIN MATERIALS AND METHOD OF PREPARING A PUNICA GRANATUM EXTRACT. The present invention relates to an extract of Punica granatum which comprises: i. at least 10% by weight of the total weight of the dry punicalagins extract; and ii. at least 10% by weight of the total weight of the dry extract of ellagic acid; and wherein the weight ratio [ellagic acid/punicalagins] is in the range of 0.5 to 2. The present invention also relates to a method of preparing said extract. Another object of the present invention is a preparation comprising said extract and at least one water-miscible organic solvent preferably chosen from lower alcohols containing from 2 to 8 carbon atoms and in particular from 2 to 6 atoms. also refers to a composition comprising said extract or preparation; a process for the cosmetic treatment of keratin materials, comprising a step of applying said composition and cosmetic uses of said extract. |
