PROCESS TO PREPARE MMA IN HIGH INCOME.nThe present invention relates to a process for preparing methyl methacrylate by direct oxidative esterification of methacrolein in high yields compared to the prior art. Methyl methacrylate is used in large quantities to prepare polymers and copolymers with other polymerizable compounds. In addition, methyl methacrylate is an important synthesis unit for a variety of specialized esters based on methacrylic acid (MAA) that can be produced by transesterification with the appropriate alcohol. Consequently, there is a great interest in environment-friendly, very simple and economical processes for preparing this starting material.nMore particularly, the present invention relates to an optimized final treatment of the reactor output from oxidative methacrolein esterification, by means of which specific by-products can be isolated and then further converted into alkyl methacrylates, especially in MMA. |
