abstract | ANIMAL BREEDING, CELL, METHODS TO PRODUCE A NON-HUMAN ANIMAL OR A LINE OF NON-HUMAN ANIMALS AND TO INCREASE THE RESISTANCE OF A BREEDING ANIMAL TO INFECTION BY A PATHOGEN, BREEDING POPULATION AND ACID MOLECULE. Farm animals and their progeny are provided comprising at least one chromosomal sequence modified in a gene encoding an N-aminopeptidase protein (ANPEP). Animal cells that contain these modified chromosomal sequences are also provided. Animals, progeny and cells are more resistant to pathogens, including transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV) and porcine respiratory coronavirus (PRCV). Animals, progeny and cells can optionally further comprise at least one chromosomal sequence modified in a gene encoding a CD163 protein and / or a SIGLEC1 protein. Methods for producing non-human animals or strains of pathogen resistant non-human animals are also provided. |
