abstract | These are hydrophobic and formaldehyde scavenging compositions comprising O / W wax emulsions including petroleum and plant derived wax emulsions and resorcinol. The wax emulsions according to the invention are useful in the manufacture of various materials, for example, composite wood boards, such as wood-based boards, fiber boards, agglomerates, compacted boards, oriented particle boards, plywood and cardboard, but also of stone wool or fiberglass insulation. The wax emulsions according to the invention provide materials to which they are applied with water-repellent properties and reduce the formaldehyde emission, if formaldehyde is used during manufacture, and allow lower press temperature and press factor during the manufacture of plates. |
