the present invention generally relates to a medical dressing for preventing pressure ulcers. the dressing comprises a gel coating having a low pressure resistance; that is, from 5 kpa to 60 kpa with a 50% effort, as measured by the compression test described in the specification. the dressing reduces shear and compression forces on the skin and underlying layers of the soft tissue and prevents or mitigates pressure ulcers. |
