abstract | it is a treatment process to correct a contaminated liquid containing more than 5 ppm of hydrogen sulphide and substantially without precipitate formation, which includes the steps of adding an aqueous solution containing at least one hydroxide compound in a concentration collective weight of 35 to 55% by weight in relation to the contaminated liquid to reach a concentration of 125 to 5,000 ppm of the hydroxide compounds in the contaminated liquid, addition of at least one organic acid and to the liquid to reach a concentration of 0.01 to 10 ppm in the contaminated liquid, and dispersion of the aqueous solution and at least one organic acid in the contaminated liquid, and allow the aqueous solution and at least one organic acid to react with the contaminated liquid for a period of time to a concentration of sulfide of hydrogen in the contaminated liquid is reduced to = 5 ppm. |
