abstract the present inventors have found that a fragment of the hmgb1 peptide that has a particular amino acid sequence is effective in suppressing finger adhesion and in healing the digestive tract and in prolonging the survival of mice of the bullous epidermolysis type model by malnutrition. the inventors also found that in a cutaneous ulcer model, administration of the specific hmgb1 peptide fragment suppresses skin fibrosis that occurs in the ulcer healing process. the present invention, based on these findings, provides a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of fibrotic disease, which contains the specific hmgb1 peptide fragment.
