titleOfInvention device for application to teeth or gum, gelling method, and oral care kit
abstract Disclosed herein is a novel method and system for increasing the ph of a composition applied to the teeth and / or gum. the composition is gellable under the influence of a ph change. The change in ph is typically an increase in ph in the case of direct ph-activated gelation. The change in ph is typically a decrease in ph in case of ion-induced gelation such as calcium ions released by a ph-sensitive vehicle. The device comprises a composition dispensing unit whose distal end is adapted to apply said substance to the teeth or gum. the device further comprises a lead system comprising first and second leads, the first lead being adapted to be held against the composition at or near a location in the teeth or gum, and the second lead being adapted to be kept against makeup in a location away from the teeth or gums. The electrode system is adapted to provide an electrical potential difference of 1.5 to 10 volts between the electrodes.
