process for preparing a porous inorganic powder. The present invention relates to a process for preparing an inorganic airgel, the process comprising steps providing a composition (i) suitable for forming an inorganic gel having a gel time, spraying the composition (i) on carbon dioxide. supercritical at a ts spray time to obtain gel particles and drying of the gel particles obtained in step (ii) by supercritical liquid extraction, wherein the ts: tg ratio ranges from 0.2 to 0.99. The present invention further relates to inorganic airgel as such, as well as to the use of the inorganic airgel according to the invention, in particular for medical and pharmaceutical applications or for thermal insulation. |
