titleOfInvention | METHOD TO DETECT AT LEAST ONE ANALYTE IN A TEST SAMPLE, SENSOR ELEMENT, TEST DEVICE, TEST SYSTEM, SENSOR ELEMENT USE AND DATA CARRIER |
abstract | METHOD FOR DETECTING AT LEAST ONE ANALYTE IN A TEST SAMPLE, SENSOR ELEMENT, TEST DEVICE, TEST SYSTEM AND SENSOR ELEMENT USE. Refers to a method for detecting at least one analyte in a test sample, comprising the steps: a) bringing the test sample into contact with (i) an active chemical matrix (116) that alters at least one dependent electrochemical property from an active enzymatic activity in the presence of the analyte, the active chemical matrix makes contact with a first electrode (112); and (ii) with an inactive chemical matrix (118), the inactive chemical matrix makes contact with a second electrode (114), b) closes an electrical circuit that includes the first electrode (112), the second electrode (114) and the matrix active chemical (116) and inactive chemical matrix (118), followed by determining a first value of at least one electrochemical property, c) reversing the electrical polarity of the electrical circuit of b), followed by determining a second value of at least an electrochemical property, d) detecting at least one analyte based on the first value and said second value. A test device and an adapted test system that uses the method. A sensor element (110) which determines at least one analyte, comprises a pair of electrodes (112, 114) and at least one active and one inactive chemical matrix (116, 118), whose active chemical matrix (116) alters at least an electrochemical property dependent on an active enzyme activity, (i) the electrode pair (112, 114) consists of two electrodes electrically isolated from other electrodes, (ii) active chemical matrix (116) comprises enzyme activity and inactive chemical matrix (118 ) does not comprise enzymatic activity, (iii) a first electrode (112) of the electrode pair makes contact with the active chemical matrix (116) and a second electrode (114) of the electrode pair makes contact with the inactive chemical matrix (118 ). |
