PROCESS FOR TREATMENT TOBACCO MATERIAL, TOBACCO MATERIAL, SMOKING ARTICLE, USE OF TOBACCO MATERIAL, TOBACCO EXTRACT, NICOTINE DELIVERY SYSTEM. It is a tobacco material and a process for treating tobacco that are provided. The process comprises entrapping the tobacco within a water-retaining material and exposing the tobacco material to an ambient processing temperature of at least about 95°C, wherein the tobacco has a packing density of at least 200 kg/m 3 on a dry weight basis at the start of the process and an aqueous content between about 10% and 23%. The TSNA content of the tobacco material is kept at a relatively constant level during the process. |
