titleOfInvention method and additive for changing the rheological behavior of a water-based or alcohol-based formulation, composition and method for stabilizing a formulation or increasing the photostability of organic compounds.
abstract abstract patent of invention: "monodispersed glycogen and phyto glycogen nanoparticles and their use as additives in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food products". the present invention relates to monodispersed glycogen or phyto glycogen nanoparticles which are polyfunctional additives suitable for use in aqueous or alcohol-based cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or feed formulations. nanoparticles can be isolated from various sources (such as corn), and are optionally modified with a range of organic fractions (such as an octenyl succinic acid). the monodispersed and particulate nature of glycogen / phytoglocogen is believed to make such materials useful as rheological modifiers (including modulation of thixotropic behavior), stabilizers of organic and biological materials, and photo-stabilizers in sunscreens.
