abstract | abstract patent of invention: "process of production of ethylene oxide from a flow of thermomechanically integrated ethanol". the invention relates to a process of dehydrating an ethanol charge in ethylene and then oxidizing the ethylene to ethylene oxide which comprises a step of vaporizing a charge comprising said ethanol charge and at least part of a water flow of dilution comprising recycled ethanol to produce a vaporized charge, a compression step inside a compressor driven by a condensation turbine driven by the steam generated by the oxidation step, a dehydration step of a mixture comprising said compressed vaporized charge , a step of separating the effluent from the dehydration step into an effluent comprising ethylene and an effluent comprising water, a step of purifying at least part of the effluent comprising water and separating it into at least one treated water stream and a dilution water stream comprising ethanol, the latter being recycled upstream of the v aporization, and an ethylene oxidation step comprised in the effluent comprising ethylene to ethylene oxide, that oxidation stage comprising at least one tubular oxidation reactor cooled by vaporizing a quench flow, said vaporized quench flow enabling activation of a condensation turbine. |
