METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF A MEDICAL DRUM FOR A MEDICAL CARTRIDGE OR SYRINGE; APPARATUS FOR APPLYING A MAGNETIC FIELD INSIDE THE GENERALLY CYLINDRICAL WALL OF THE MEDICAL DRUM; AND APPARATUS FOR COATING A MEDICAL DRUM FOR A MEDICAL CARTRIDGE OR SYRINGE. It is a method and apparatus for plasma modification of a workpiece such as a medical drum, vial or blood tube. Plasma is supplied within the lumen of the workpiece. Plasma is supplied under conditions effective for plasma modification of a workpiece surface. A magnetic field is provided in at least a portion of the lumen. The magnetic field has an orientation and field strength effective to improve the uniformity of plasma modification of the generally cylindrical inner surface 16. A vessel produced in accordance with the process or using the apparatus described above. A pharmaceutical package comprising a medical vial or drum containing a pharmaceutical preparation, secured with a closure. |
