| abstract | Patent Summary: "Liquid agrochemical compositions comprising a polymeric thickener and an alcohol-containing solvent system, and liquid herbicidal compositions having an alcohol-containing solvent system". The present invention relates to liquid agrochemical compositions, including a mixture of: agrochemical active ingredients (in particular herbicides); C1-C6 alkyl methacrylate polymer (in particular isobutyl methacrylate polymer), which acts as a thickener; and solvent system comprising: (c1) alcohol solvent comprising hexylene glycol (2-methyl-2,4-pentanediol), benzyl alcohol, diacetone alcohol (2-methyl-4-oxo-pentane-2-ol), isobutanol , n-pentanol, n-hexanol, n-heptanol, n-octanol, 2-ethylhexanol, cyclohexanol, dipropylene glycol, diethylene glycol monomethyl ether, dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether, ethylene glycol, or a mixture from two or more of these alcohols (preferably hexylene glycol); and (c2) heavy aromatic hydrocarbon solvent. The invention further provides method for controlling and / or inhibiting weed growth and using C1-C6 alkyl methacrylate polymer as a thickener in agrochemical composition to increase its viscosity. |
