titleOfInvention | COMPOSITION AND USE OF COMPOSITION |
abstract | composition, method of treating hypersensitivity, use of particulate calcium carbonate and use of composition "The invention provides a composition containing particulate calcium carbonate composed of primary particles that are scalenohedral and have an average size of 2 microns or less; for the treatment of hypersensitivity that occurs in natural human teeth by applying the composition thereon. Scalenohedral calcium carbonate particles are effective as dentin tubule occlusive agents. In addition, they can provide a smooth and pleasant mouthfeel when formulated in products such as toothpastes. They can also play a dual role in desensitizing and mild tooth whitening when incorporated into a toothpaste form. |
