abstract Abstract "Method and system for using hydrogen peroxide and ultraviolet light for egg disinfection and sanitization" in one aspect, the present invention relates to a method of disinfecting an eggshell surface. In various embodiments, the method may include wetting the shell surface with a disinfectant and exposing the shell surface of the egg to ultraviolet light after wetting with the disinfecting agent occurs. The combination of wetting the shell surface with the disinfectant and exposing the egg shell surface to ultraviolet light reduces a number of microbes on the egg shell surface.
