titleOfInvention dendrimer-like aminoamides having sodium channel blocking activity for the treatment of dry eye and other mucosal diseases
abstract Patent Summary: "Dendrimer-like aminoamides having sodium channel blocking activity for the treatment of dry eye and other mucosal diseases". Sodium channel blockers represented by formula ii are provided where structural variables are defined herein. The invention also includes a variety of compositions, combinations and treatment methods using inventive sodium channel blockers. It is an object of the present invention to provide compounds which are more potent and / or less rapidly absorbed from mucosal surfaces, such as ocular surfaces, and / or are less reversible when compared to known compounds. In particular, it is an object of the present invention to provide treatment methods relying on rehydration of mucosal surfaces.
