titleOfInvention | orthosis for attachment to a human hand |
abstract | Thumb orthosis. The present invention relates to an orthosis for fixation to a human hand (20) for immobilizing the carpus and metacarpal of the thumb (22) of the hand (20). it comprises a rigid body (2, 52, 102), which has a metacarpal segment (5, 55, 105) and a rigid thumb segment (6, 56, 106). the first is formed by a segment of a curved and rigid element and has a first end (5a, 55a, 105a) and a second end (5b, 55b, 105b), which are spaced apart. it is executed in such a way that it can be brought into engagement with a human hand (20), as it is applied under the metacarpals of the index finger, middle finger, ring finger and little finger in such a way as to the palm of the hand (20 ) which extends in a direction between the two lateral edges of the hand for at least a part of the palm and abuts at least partially the same. the thumb segment (6, 56, 106) extends from the metacarpal segment (5, 55, 105) and has a first end (6a, 56a, 106a) which is attached to the metacarpal segment (5, 55, 105 ) or is formed by a part of the metacarpal segment (5, 55, 105) and a second end (6b, 56b, 106b), in which region a thumb retention segment (7, 57, 107) is provided. the thumb (22) may then be disposed in the ring opening (10, 60, 110) defined by the thumb retaining segment, which extends over at least a portion of the periphery of the thumb (22) and supports the thumb (22) against a movement towards the palm of the hand. |
