titleOfInvention high temperature etching process for etching a bayer process liquor
abstract high temperature etching process for etching a bayer process alcoholic beverage a high temperature etching process for etching a bayer process alcoholic beverage is disclosed. the process comprises the steps of: a) adding an amount of a causticizing agent to the bayer process alcoholic beverage in a reactor vessel operating at a target reaction pressure for a given target reaction temperature, b) allowing the causticizing agent to reacting with the bayer process alcoholic beverage for a sufficient residence time to produce a reaction sludge comprising an amount of reaction solids in an etched bayered alcoholic beverage; and, c) subjecting the reaction sludge to the solid / liquid separation at a target separation temperature to produce a separate stream of reaction solids and a stream of clarified caustic bayer alcohol product. the process is characterized by the fact that the target reaction temperature is not less than 115ºc and the target separation temperature is not less than 115ºc.
