NANOCOMPOSITES FOR SCREEN RETENTION SCREEN WITH ABSORPTION. The present invention relates to a downhole filter comprising an open cell foam; and nanoparticles disposed in the open cell foam and exposed within the pores of the open cell foam. A method for preparing the downhole filter includes combining a polyisocyanate and polyol to form a polymeric composition; introduce nanoparticles into the polymeric composition; and foaming the polymer composition to produce the downhole filter comprising an open cell foam with exposed nanoparticles within the pores of the open cell foam. Nanoparticles can be derived with functional groups. |
