MUTANT OF GDF-5 FOR INDUCTION OF CARTILAGE FORMATION.nThe present invention is directed to proteins related to GDF-5 which have an enhanced ability to induce cartilage formation and a reduced ability to induce bone formation. The new proteins are particularly useful in the treatment of cartilage defects, where the formation of bone tissue is undesirable. |
