abstract 1/1 Abstract "Process for the Improvement of Surfactant Taste and / or Taste" The present invention relates to processes for improving the taste of water-soluble surfactants using liquid-liquid solvent extraction, said process comprising the following: steps of: providing a water soluble surfactant composition in need of treatment wherein said water soluble surfactant composition 10 comprises a water soluble surfactant and one or more undesirable non-polar materials; contacting said water-soluble surfactant composition with an extraction solvent and water to form an extraction mixture comprising an aqueous phase and a solvent phase; and separating the aqueous phase from the solvent phase; wherein the extraction solvent is selected from solvents having individual hansen solubility parameters of a dispersion force (dd) component in the range of about 15 to about 17 (mpa) 0.5, a polar component (dp) in the range from 0 to about 9 (mpa) 0.5 and a hydrogen bonding component (dh) in the range from 0 to about 11 (mpa) 0.5. treated water soluble surfactant compositions produced by such processes and buccal treatment compositions containing such treated water soluble surfactant compositions.
