titleOfInvention STABLE STORAGE FORMULATION OF PARACETAMOL IN Aqueous Solution
abstract STABLE STORAGE FORMULATION OF PARACETAMOL IN AQUEOUS SOLUTION The present invention relates to a method for the production of a formulation which is stable to oxidation and which is based on paracetamol in an aqueous solvent, comprising the steps of (i) dissolving paracetamol in an aqueous solvent comprising an isotonic agent, which is sodium chloride and a buffering agent which is sodium citrate, at a temperature between 65ºC and 95º C and with a pH between 5.0 and 6.0, in a reaction vessel, (ii) replacing the air remaining in the vessel with an inert gas, such as nitrogen and cooling the solution thus formed to a temperature below 38ºC, (iii) adding cysteine hydrochloride to the solution without mechanical stirring, and ( iv) close the reaction vessel and mechanically stir the solution in a nitrogen atmosphere. The invention also relates to a formulation prepared according to the method.
