The present invention relates to a method for operating a blast furnace in which further improvement in combustion temperature and further reduction of specific consumption of reducing agents are possible. The mixture of a solid reducing agent and a flammable reducing agent is injected through the same tube as a lance. For example, a solid reducing agent and a flammable reducing agent are mixed, and the mixture is injected through a single tube lance (4). in addition, using a double tube lance (4) as the lance, while mixing a solid reducing agent and a flammable reducing agent is injected through the inner tube of the double tube lance (4), combustion enhancing gas is injected through the outer tube of the twin tube boom. in addition, using a double-tube lance (4) as the lance, while a combustion enhancing gas is injected through the inner tube of the dual-tube lance (4), the mixture of a reducing agent of solid and a flammable reducing agent is injected through the outer tube of the twin-tube lance. The solid reducing agent consists mainly of pulverized coal, and a utility gas, converter gas, blast furnace gas, coal gas and hydrogen are used as the flammable reducing agent. 02 is used as the combustion enhancing gas.
