abstract Use of a Viscosity Enhancing Component Use of a viscosity enhancing component in a diesel fuel composition is described for the purpose of improving the fuel economy of an engine or vehicle powered by such an engine. The viscosity enhancing component is a viscosity index enhancing additive (vi), such as a polystyrene polyisoprene star copolymer. Diesel fuel may comprise a biofuel. Methods of using a viscosity increasing component for the purposes of improving fuel economy and methods of operating a compression ignition engine are also described.
