process for extracting cs-137 from an acidic solution. the present invention relates to a process for extracting cs-137 from i) an acidic solution obtained by dissolving a solid irradiated target comprising uranium, ii) an acidic solution comprising uranium that was previously irradiated in a nuclear reactor, iii ) an acidic solution comprising uranium that was used as a reactor fuel in a homogeneous reactor, the acidic solution i), ii or iii) having been treated to collect mo-99, in which the process involves making contact with the acidic solution treated with an absorbent comprising ammonium molybdophosphate (amp). in one embodiment, the amp is combined with an organic polymeric support, for example, amp synthesized within hollow aluminosilicate microspheres (amp-c). |
