combined immediate / delayed release shipping system for short half-life pharmaceuticals including remogliflozin. The present invention relates to a combined immediate / delayed release delivery system for compounds having a short half life, such as the remogliflozin antidiabetic etabonate, which provides a dosage form that has two distinct release phases, the formulation which promotes immediate release of the compound with ingestion and another formulation that delays the release of the compound so that a once daily remogliflozin etabonate dosing regimen can be achieved while providing effective control of plasma glucose and minimizes exposure during sleep hours of said compound. The shipping system includes, but is not limited to, an enteric coating combination of an immediate release formulation so that a release delay is provided. Methods for forming the so-called immediate / delayed release delivery system and the use of said delivery system for treating diabetes are also provided. |
