abstract process for the preparation of pyrrolines from gamma nitrocetones. use of gamma-intracetones as pesticides. The invention is directed to the method for preparing pyrrolines of the general formula (I) by catalytically hydrating a nitrocetone of the general formula (ii) using a high pressure gaseous transition metal catalyst in a solvent, optionally in the presence of at least one additive selected from lewis acids, bronsted acids, organic sulfur-containing compounds, organic or inorganic bases, and water sequestrants, wherein in formulas (i) and (ii) b ^ 1 ^, b ^ 2 ^. and are as defined in the description and to a nitrocetone of formula (ii) for use as an intermediate in the process according to the invention and as a pesticidal agent.
