abstract TETRAHYDROBENZOTHIOPHENE COMPOUND. A compound is provided which has an intestinal phosphate transporter (NPT-IIb) inhibitory action and is useful as an active ingredient of an agent to treat and/or prevent hyperphosphatemia. Means for solution. The present inventors have extensively studied a compound which has an NPT-IIb inhibitory action and is useful as an active ingredient of an agent to treat and/or prevent hyperphosphataemia, and thereby found that a tetrahydrobenzothiophene compound has an NPT-inhibitory action. IIb, thereby completing the present invention. The tetrahydrobenzothiophene compound of the present invention has an NPT-IIb inhibitory action and can be used as an agent to prevent and/or treat hyperphosphatemia. Selected Figure None.
