abstract process of preparing amino benzoruran derivatives. The invention relates to a process for preparing 5-amino-benzofuran derivatives of formula (I), wherein R1 represents hydrogen or an alkyl group and R2 represents an alkyl or dialkyl amino alkyl. The compounds of formula (I) according to the invention are prepared by treating with a strong acid a 5-n-alkyl amido-benzo furan derivative of formula (ii) wherein: R 2 and R 2 have the same meaning as before and R 3 represents an alkyl group to form an acid addition salt of the compound of formula (I), which salt itself is treated, if necessary, with a basic agent. to form such a compound of formula (I) as free base.
