abstract Method for Producing a Sugar Liquid The present invention is intended to provide a method for producing a sugar liquid which repeats a process for producing sugar liquid comprising steps (1) to (3) below: (1) adding a filamentous fungus-derived cellulase to cellulose to perform primary hydrolysis; (2) the step of adding a fresh filamentous fungus-derived cellulase to the hydrolyzate in step (1) to perform secondary hydrolysis; and (3) the step of subjecting the hydrolyzate in step (2) to solid-liquid separation to obtain a sugar liquid from which a recovered enzyme is obtained; wherein the recovered enzyme obtained in step (3) is used for step (1) of the next and following processes to produce sugar liquid. thereby, the present invention provides a method for reducing the amount of enzyme used, such as cellulase, in a method for producing a sugar liquid from pretreated cellulose.
