abstract biodegradable microsphere, material for use in connection with wound treatment comprising microspheres, wound dressing, method for carrying out hemostasis, method for carrying out wound treatment, method for culturing cells in vitro and method for carrying out vascular embolization. the present invention is intended for biodegradable microspheres having a diameter of 10 - 2,000 (mi) m comprising crosslinked hydrolyzed starch in which at least one type of linker has been coupled through a carboxylic ester linkage. the ligand must be an endogenous molecule, charged with a molecular mass of less than 1,000 µm comprising at least one additional carboxylic acid function in addition to that used for coupling the ligand to the microsphere and / or at least one amine function. on average 0.05 - 1.5 binders are attached to each glucose fraction in the hydrolyzed starch.
