abstract process for preparing aqueous solutions of acrylic acid homo- or copolymers. The invention relates to a pressure sensitive adhesive polymer made of (i) 50-95 wt% n-butyl acrylate, (ii) 1-20 wt% ethyl acrylate, (iii) 1-20% (iv) 0.1-5% by weight of at least one ethylenically unsaturated acid anhydride, and (v) 0 to 30% by weight of additional ethylenically unsaturated compounds of monomers (i) to ( iv). The pressure sensitive adhesive polymer may be used to produce self-adhesive articles, in particular paper labels or film labels.
