titleOfInvention | SYSTEM FOR SUPPORTING A CATENARY UP PIPE COUPLED TO A STRUCTURE OUTSIDE THE COAST, AND, TENSION JOINT SET WITH SLEEVE FOR PIPING TUBE |
abstract | system for supporting a overhead catenary riser coupled to an offshore structure, and the tension tube glove joint assembly of the present invention provides an improved design for a tension tube glove joint and tension tube associated traction to manage stresses over a catenary riser (4) to a floating offshore structure. the draw tube sleeve tensioning joint (1) includes at least one sleeve surrounding a length of the draw tube (1) with an annular gap between the sleeve and the draw tube (1) and a connecting ring between the same. For embodiments having a plurality of sleeves, a first sleeve (12) may be spaced by a first annular gap (34) of the draw tube (1) coupled thereto with a first ring between the draw tube (1) and the first glove (12), and a second glove (20) may be spaced by a second annular gap of the first glove (12) and coupled thereto with a second ring between the first glove (12) and the second glove (20) . Both the draw tube (1) and sleeves can be made with normal pipe segments welded together with normal circumferential welds. |
