titleOfInvention | THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN, VEHICLE, METHOD OF HEATING A BATTERY IN A VEHICLE, AND READIBLE MEDIUM |
abstract | The present invention relates to a thermal management system (1) for a vehicle (20), in which the thermal management system (1) is arranged to manage thermal loads from a battery (3) included in the vehicle (20) . The thermal management system comprises a heater (5) arranged to heat the battery (3) and a radiator (7). The thermal management system (1) further comprises a battery cooling circuit (11) arranged in thermal communication with the battery (3), the radiator (7) and the heater (5). The battery coolant circuit (11) comprises a bypass line (13) arranged to allow coolant to flow in the battery coolant circuit (11) to bypass the radiator (7). The thermal management system (1) further comprises a control arrangement (15) configured so that when the battery (3) requires heating and an air temperature in the vicinity of the radiator (7), Tar, exceeds a first threshold value, Tlim , allow at least a part of the refrigerant in the battery refrigeration circuit (11) to flow through the radiator (7) and reduce the use of the heater (5). The present description further relates to a power train (22), a vehicle (20) and a method (100) of heating a battery (3) of a vehicle (20). |
