abstract The present invention describes a composite material formed by a matrix of polyester resin reinforced with graphene oxide (GO) functionalized fiber fibers. The characteristics of this composite material, technically known as a composite, are such that they make it so resistant and economically advantageous for use in multilayer ballistic armor to protect against high velocity rifle fire. This composite makes it possible to replace or form hybrids with synthetic materials, which are more expensive and dense, and are currently used in the Armed Forces around the world. The present invention also reveals the production process of the material, as well as showing its importance and potential as applications in individual ballistic protection.
