titleOfInvention | WHEAT-BASED CULTURE MEDIUM FOR CONCOMITATIVE PRODUCTION OF DELTA-ENDOTOXINS AND PROTEASES BY BACILLUS THURINGIENSIS |
abstract | The present invention describes the composition of a liquid culture medium based on whey supplemented with mineral salts, without supplementation with commercial carbon or nitrogen sources, for the concomitant production of delta-endotoxins and proteases by Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) used in biological control of agricultural pests and in industrial applications, respectively. The proposed culture medium uses simple and easily obtainable components, making use of a very nutritious and abundant by-product that promotes an efficient production of delta-endotoxins and proteases by Bt without needing the use of commercial substrates in its formulation, such as peptones, extracts or glucose, in addition to contributing to the reduction of environmental pollution by redirecting waste that is often improperly disposed of in the environment. |
