titleOfInvention Pharmaceutical composition comprising extracts of acmella oleracea or spilanthol and use thereof
abstract pharmaceutical composition comprising extracts of acmella oleracea or spilanthol and use thereof. the present invention describes formulations comprising extracts of aerial parts, including leaves and inflorescences of acmella oleracea, a medicinal plant occurring in the Brazilian flora, known as jambu, and with spilanthol, which have significant anti-inflammatory activity. the pharmacological activity of these formulations was confirmed from the results obtained with biological assays carried out in vitro and pre-clinical with rats without apparent toxicity. The relevance of this invention is to present a drug product made from a Brazilian plant that has anti-inflammatory activity with a mixed mechanism of action, including inhibitory activity on inflammatory proteases such as chymase and antioxidant effect.
