abstract |
The present invention is a phase transfer catalyst for nucleophilic fluorination reaction of alkyl halides or mesylates using fluoride of alkali metals such as potassium and cesium. Its structure is a combination of crown ether and thiourea groups, which lead to the total solubilization of alkali metal fluorides and are able to stabilize the Sn2 transition state, resulting in a rapid and selective nucleophilic fluorination under mild reaction conditions. This new catalyst could be used in the field of fine chemistry and pharmaceuticals. |
