The present invention refers to the process of elaboration of biodegradable active packaging to preserve and prolong the shelf life of foods. the invention reveals the use of buriti oil extracted with pressurized liquid propane as an antioxidant and antimicrobial agent, and this extractive process is also an innovative step in the present patent application by contributing to obtaining an oil with a high content of bioactive compounds. the chemical composition of this oil has antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of interest to the packaging industry, as it avoids adding additives and synthetic preservatives to prolong the shelf life of the food. the preparation of the packaging is based on a filmogenic solution with gelatin, glycerol, acetic acid, incorporating buriti oil. the film produced was tested for antimicrobial, antioxidant and physicochemical properties. the invention is a promising industrial and biotechnological option, considering the cost-effectiveness and the growing interest in natural and biodegradable raw materials in the packaging sector to preserve food. |
