abstract |
The present patent describes a process for producing ethanol from lignocellulosic biomass via saccharification and modified simultaneous cofermentation (sscf). In the present invention, enzymatic hydrolysis is mainly preceded by c5 sugar fermentation and low enzymatic hydrolysis and is mainly succeeded by c6 sugar fermentation at different temperatures and duration, resulting in reduction of enzyme dosage and process time, with increase in the yield of ethanol from acid treated biomass. |
